So what's the low down with these things these days?
What are good ones? Are there good ones? I'm sure budget definitely plays a role so I'll say $300-400. This isn't for me by the way, I'm asking for a friend. Any post in this thread is welcomed and appreciated whether or not it's relevant to the topic :D
Pretty much the same as with standard HUs... alpine and clarion I consider top of the mainstream. Theres pioneer if the rca issue won't bother you. JVC makes some nice units also but only their higher end ones.
i have a pioneer avh5900dvd. i bought it from chad lee a couple of years ago. it does have the classic rca problem, but that has been taken care of by grounding the RCAs
ill sell it for $300 shipped if interested. i should have the ipod cable and remote laying around somewhere as well

Do not get it from walmart. I have an XOvision flip out and it works, but its just super cheap looking and feels cheap. And sounds cheap. It was only 200 bucks new though. cant beat it
go with the jensen uv8 its a 7inch flip screen touch i paid like 175 last year for it i think and i live it got 2 tv hookd to it my ipod plug in and my subs its great o ya with back up cam also so you no they got the uv8hd and i bet they got a newer mode now check it out cheap but great o for the subs its got it own lil EQ
