I just bought a used 1996 caravan. It had a bad battery that is now replaced. The car has a VIPER security system on it, I do not know the model. We are having problems getting the starter to turn. Sometimes it works as expected and other times it does nothing. How can I reset or disable the Viper. The dealer removed some fuses from the brain but that did not help. Not sure what fuses to put back in. I have the remotes.

Forgot to mention that the LED in the dash is still blinking. Is there an easy way to remove this system without causing further problems?

It turns out that the alarm needed to be reset. My mechanic got the model, then the owners manual. He reset everything and left it on valet setting.

Just a small footnote; If you take your car to a dealer they will tell you that aftermarket devices are not their responsibility. Alert them as to what you have and what they can not do, if you do not want things messed up.
