What do you guys think about this sub? I've kind of made my mind up that I wanted the rl-p 12 but the specs on the treo look good. I want a sub with a low Fs for good low end and good output. I plan to run a nine.1 at 2 ohm.

honestly id take the rlp over that treo sub. if it was the ssi or ssp watever its called now would be a better comparison.

I was thinking of a 15 but I'd like to keep the enclosure to 2.5 cubes or smaller. If there was a 15 that would do ok in a smaller enclosure that would produce good low end I'd be interested.

you could put the mag in a 2.5 sealed enclosure and put polyfill in it and it would hit the low end very well because it would function as a box that was 3 cubic feet

Where would I find a mag 15? That's kind of a problem with the Sound Splinter subs, they're hard to come across. The only ones I've found still for sale are the rl-p12 d4's.

I'd really like a rl-p 15 is anyone knew where to find one, new or used. I'd sacrifice the space for a good 15.

sean- there is no way you can figure that, yes adding pollyfill makes the sub think the enclosure is bigger but its impossible to figure how much bigger.

skd- only subs id know of that work well in small boxes is tc sounds drivers, but they can be very exspensive.

I googled rlp-15 d2 and found someone who was looking to trade a near mint one, for a rl-p12. I messaged the guy to see if he is looking to sell it. I'll keep the mag in mind, I do like the specs. How much would you want for it?

sean, i looked over that website, and have a stupid question: when stuffing my box, do I staple it to the walls or just throw it in the box with a screen across the port?

Gaining "apparent" sub enclosure volume using poly DOES have positive effects. The bottom line value can, and ever will be, an arguable one however. Some sites state an increase of as much as 30% is possible while others say less than 10% is a safe bet. I've used poly, carpet padding and even fiberglass insulation on the insides of some of my boxes with positive results. (The insulation not being recommended of course lol).

Some wise men say a statement is fact until it is disproven. Others say how can you state fact on anything that isn't completely understood?

Case and point. According to Einstein time travel is possible within the confines of his theory of relativity.

Until we "understand" and PROVE the universe and its' laws completely we just have to accept that time travel is indeed possible according to his genius.

My point and advice after all that?

Stuff it.

lol anyway back to OG topic treo sub isnt comparable to the other subs listed maybe if it was the ssi. The mag an rlp are very close performance/build quality wise. Me personally would take the rlp but i like tc designed subs so.

The Treo TE is the remaked version of the TSX... I have experience with the TSX 12s... They hit VERY hard, and give out GREAT lows. You just can't put the juice to them.

I did 2 12" Treo TSXs in a 5.5cuft Tuned @ 33hz - they could find a niddle in a hay stack ( Meaning they were pin-point accurate on all notes that came across them. And sounded GOOD doing it )
.... And I also did 1 12" TREO TSX in a 3.0cuft @ 35hz - I have yet to hear a single budget sub hit that aggressively & not show a sign of fatigue. If I can find the picture(s) of the setup's I'll post them.
