whats up dudes, im designing my first box and i wanted to 45 the corners of it, but im not sure how to calculate the box volume with the corners 45ed. can anyone explain how you pros do it. i failed geometry in high school =[ thats peeps

you can fill your box with packing peanuts till its full and use a shop vac with a round container...at least a 5 gallon...then vacuum all the packing peanuts used to fill your box and use a simple pi math equation times depth to see how much space they took in the round canister.....

very simple geometry.
measure the section with the 45 degree cut as if it were a square, then divide by 2. you're taking out half of the square with the 45 degree cut.

just break things down into simple geometric shapes for measurements, then add up the results for a total.

Geometry, simple & accurate as GW said, formula for simple shapes are all over the internet.
