the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C 7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.
If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio

as far i know, if you havent attempted more than 10 times you should be ok. if you tried it about 10 times i think its a def lock and you need the garage to unlock it for you. try disconnecting your battery for 5 min then plug it back in again. and try the code i gived you it worked for me.

@ Lionel Your original manufacturer's radio code is 1663. If this code does not work, best advice, is to use a radio decoding service, who will read the code directly from the eprom chip. (because it will have been re-programmed in the past)
Hello again, I understand that this is a volunteer service and all, but I am concerned that perhaps no one here has the code for the Mercedes I am driving. I also don't know how long the back log of requests is. I see some get answers right away and for others it takes longer. Is there some algorithm for determining these codes or is it just a matter of some folks having amassed a large database of codes?

This is in a 1999 MB SLK230 Kompressor. The battery was disconnected or some such and now no radio. And I drive a long way to and from work and must be the last person without an ipod. Besides listening to live folks on public radio is more like having friends ride along. If anyone can help me I thank you in advance. If no one can, I'd like to know sooner so I can bite the bullet and go to the dealership. In either case, I thank all of you who do this. It is proof that people are good!

Hay88, thank you for the codes. I have not been able to try them because I have been locked out since trying the codes the owner "thought" were the correct codes. According to the manual which I have for this car and radio the lock out should last 10 minutes with the radio left on. At least that is how I interpreted it. But I have now driven with it on for an hour and the radio still shows "WAIT" on the screen.
Does anyone have a better understanding of these radios or know of how to get it back to CODE mode? Can I disconnect the battery and will that do it? Or will I still be in wait mode? Any advice is appreciated.
