Line converter torture.

ok, so 2 days ago i tried to install my new amp and sub into my 2003 ford taurus. what a lovely time i having. i installed a line converter from the rear control unit to BOTH rear speaker wires +,-. i didnt cut the wires i just tapped into them. the amp has power. but its not emmiting ANY sound at all. im so frutrated right now cuz i dont wanna have to go to quality auto sound to have some shmuck go" oh, hears your problem" thatll be 70 dollars please. im using a " fierce car audio" line converter. it has 2 +, 2- and 2 red wires for something i have no Fn clue. iv been digging for help non stop and no one can help me. anyone?

oh ya its a JL audio 500/1 slash v2 with a 10w7 and HO box.

Ah, one of the two red wires needs to be grounded. If one doesn't work, then both need to be grounded.
