I just bought a 02 jetta. It has a DD monsoon system. The radio doesn't have bass. I think this might be a problem with amp. I couldn't find an amp in the trunk or in the compartment on drivers side of trunk. Is it possible not to have an external amp? I could not find any wiring for an amp in the trunk. I don't want to redo the wiring and speakers.
No bass at all. Adjusting bass on the stereo doesn't do anything. Only twitters work. I didn't open the panels to check the woofers. I think this has to do with the factory monsoon system.
I bet the woofers are blown/disconnected. Most factory systems run the tweeters off the same channel as the woofers (with a tiny crosssover, or even just a cap for filtering).
