I guess this would be the fourth generation of r's. Also a much more shallow mounting depth. Alpine needs to come out with a whole new sub line instead of improving older products...With there quality and craftsmanship they have much more potential that there not salvaging.

with the previous model it wud handle around comfortably so that 600 isnt really encouraging to chane out ur old R for a new R but still its a very good sub for its price range


btw - i had mentioned here about this new model coming out about a mth ago but no harm done ...

Weird on the link he gave. Right under the picture it says speaker rating 500 watts rms.

I disagree, The Alpine Type-R is a very nice sub for the price. Why experiment with something new when you make something that works great as is.
