in the proper enclosure those l7s would probably be more than enough to please you.. just curious about the reason for upgrade?

i mean its not a bad thing.. great direction.. just don't see you making full use of your current setup

yeah i just wanted it in-i had the system fever -i had everything and no box-so i went with those boxes-and i want more bass-where u cant sit in the car-these L7s only play good for some songs--and i want moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
u think if i do a custom box to the specs i will be fine?just dont sem like enough to me..and everyone is talking bout fi subs and how good they are-and im a loud freak and i think i will get alot more bass outtta the 18s-will i?
and will the fi subs play good with hip hop? thats what i need i listen to hip hop and reggae

before you go changing i'd honestly get a box built to specs for those subs. you might be happier than you think.. if not your not out a lot of money.. assuming you can build it

the fi subs will get loud and play good on most all music pending the quality of the box/design.. this goes for any sub. you can have a 1000 sub and it sound like a 50 one.. all in the install man

a few thoughts

I'm not a fan of Sony at all.

Why do you need the 10" subs if you're going to have 18" subs? Keep things simple. Use one or the other. I rarely ever see a system layout with a mix of subs like this that really sounds good.

If it was my car, I would get a battery tray to secure the (I hope) isolated audio batteries.

I would also fiberglass or build a nice amp rack for the amplifiers, so they aren't just stuffed in beside the box. If nothing else, you could mount the amps TO the box, and flush mount them. Either way, it makes them less likely to be victims of a smash and grab by some kid walking past in a parking lot.

I'd also invest in a good alarm system and tinted windows with all that kit sitting out in the open as it is.

Oh, and the 2 channel amp IS for the full range speakers, right? Those are amplified.. you don't want to run the non-subwoofer speakers off the head unit.

im not gonna mix the subs-either 18s or the 10s-yeah the mids are amped to the 2 channel and i have a battery rack for the battery-its under the battery and the 2 fosgate are screwed down into my hatch area securely--and the 2 channel is screwed to a small piece of wood thats why its angled like that--but u know what imma go and see if i can get a box built before i switch-illl try it and i have a 2 way pager alarm-

you should be fine with 10.5^3 ft (after displacements) with 120^2 in port area. Tuned to 35 hz.. I will send you a link to a program that I uploaded (Bass Box Pro ^ w/ keygen) You will need it to open the file (finished enclosure design)that I will send you.. But I need the maximum dementions of the cargo area (remember that the box needs to be able to fit thru trunk/hatch when it is built)

You better be easy on the gains. . That is too much power for the 10's. The old box is ported? or is it 2 boxes and both are ported? can yopu make a vid of this setup?

ok mark i jus measured the prefabbed boxes-this is the external measurement .not internal and its 3/4 mdf i suppose.
its dual port prefabbed box - so each sub is separate--the port for each sub is 15 x 1 and a half---the height is 14 the width is 30 the length is 18--- so i guess u would called it a dual chambber box-where each sub is seaprate? hope this helps-if confused jus hit me--
