My brother has a BMW 330ci not sure what year. Hes trying to add a subwoofer to his stock stereo, but his head unit does not have any rca outputs to run to the amp in the trunk.

I told him he could get a high output to rca converter but im also lost in the clouds on this one.

How do you undergo such a task? I'm guessing we will have to cut the left and right speaker wires from the stock stereo and connect them to the converter so that we can run the rca wire to the amp, but...how can we do this without messing up the left and right speaker connections? Remember, the stock speakers are still going to be powered by the stock head unit. All we want to do is be able to connect the rca audio cable from the head unit to the amp so that we can get the new woofer we bought pounding.

I know this thread should probably go in the Head Unit section, and I did post it there but have had no replies, so I brought it here.

thanks for your input.

Just get a line out converter.

Of course you can run something much cheaper.
