Port Placement

Is there really any difference on where you place a port, a rou one that is, anywhere not to put one, best spot. i cant put it on the front where the Sub is, no room. Help!

Let's say you have a port with a 3 inch diameter. That means you should have your port at least 3 inches away from the sub and any wall inside the box.

why should it be away from the walls? some boxes have slot ports that are actually part of the box, and use the wall as one of the sides....

Those are different kinds of ports. I thought you were asking about round ports. With slot ports there really isn't much of a difference where you place your ports.

yeah, for port placement it should be placed a distance from any side of the box equal to the diameter of the port tube.

if the tube is 4", then keep the port 4" from all sides of the box.
