I have a 1979 Jeep J10 pickup, the headlights, dash lights, and radio flicker with the idle which is kind of weird (right now it just has a cassete deck and some 6.5's). 1st, just wondering why they would flicker like that and 2nd I plan on running a hifonics 150x2 and a hifonics amp 500-1000 watts. I know I'll need a new altenator, etc. What size wire should i run. I was thinking 4 gauge to a distro and then 8 gauge to the amps.
would that be good or should i do 2 to the distro? Thanks

that'll be fine, and use a DMM to test voltages when the lights flicker

Hey Glass, another quick questions. Since my truck is older, it has the + battery termial running to a solenoid, not directing to the alternator. Should I upgrade this as well?
(PS motor is a 79 Chevy 5.7 (350) not the stock AMC 360) Also, should I run a second battery for the audio since its an older vehicle with about 1300 watts?
