I have narrowed my sub selection down to either 12" IDQ or 12" Cerwin Vega Vmax. I have a kicker kx550.2 that I will run them off of. I am looking for the speaker that has the better balance of SPL and SQ, though SQ is more important. Also, I am planning to run these out of a ported box. Please advise! Thanks!
I'd go with the IDQ subs, but I'd go sealed. you lose 3dB versus ported, but you get a flat frequency response down to a solid octave below sonic range.
