Yeah I am new at this lol. wiring** in title

I have a J.L. AUDIO 12W3V2-D6 12" DUAL 6 OHM VOICE COIL SUB (pasted from ebay) and I was going to wire it up like this: I am wondering how I connect from my amp to my sub box. I had it wired from the red circle, but is it supposed to be on the output from the red and white av cables between the blue arrows? It is hard to read but it says Throughput (Output).

red circles? av jacks?! HELL NO! you hook the RCAs to the head unit. You need to a lot more learning.. researching to do before you touch any wires to anything!!!!!!!!!

By wiring it like that, the amp is going to see a 3ohm load.

What amp do you have? Make and model. After that we can help you wire it up the proper way.

I have a SONY XM-ZZR3301

Pictures are in original post. I don't know why they didn't show up, you just have to copy and paste them.

The only specs I could find were 600x1 @ 2ohm, and 450x1@4ohm. So I'm assuming since it is suppose to be a mono amp. Minimum is 2ohms.

Ok so the picture is exactly how I want to wire it up then? Does it matter if the positive is on the left terminal next to the negative? Oh and one last thing.. those dials that are on the sub, would I want to adjust them once I get everything working?

I'd also agree on a better amp.. Get you a JL 500/1 for that sub :-)

I just googled the sub and it's only a 300 rms woofer correct? You could go with the 250/1 from JL then. Their slash series are very nice amps.

Yea it's 300 rms.. Hooked everything up today and was playing some music.. Sounds so f*cking amazing. Maybe if after my warranty runs out on my amp and it would happen to fail I would consider the 250/1.. Thanks for the help guys I am loving my system.
