Before my amp (Alpine MRP-M650) blew up a few weeks ago. I was running a single Alpine SWR-1222D. It hit 10 times harder than the 2 Pioneer subs that I had before this setup. I have never heard the Earthquake models personally so I cannot give my opinion on those. But I can vouch for the Alpines. They are deafening good. And I am getting another one next week along with a new amp, Kenwood KAC-9104D.

Thats a downgrade, kenwood amps are crap and prone to failure... speaking of which what the hell'd you do to that alpine amp... blown ones of those are very uncommon

I didn't do anything to the amp. I had it for 4 and a half years before it blew. A few weeks ago it started blowing fuses as soon as I turned on the radio. I put in a little larger fuse and then it let out the magic blue smoke.

And to be honest I really have not decided on what amp to replace it with. The Kenwood KAC-9104D is the top candidate so far unless you got an opinion on what will drive 2 of these DVC Alpine subs that won't break the bank. And your answer will help john and I build our system better.
