What kind of amp do I need?

Daniel Bonham Gold Member Username: Bonhamd Traverse City, MI Post Number: 2030 Registered: Nov-07	Posted on Monday, January 25, 2010 - 21:51 GMT that is a different voice coil setup. you would most likely run that at 3 ohms Look into: Alpine PDX-1.600 Phoenix Gold Zenon X600.1 JL 500/1 all of these amps are nice but can be expensive because they do about the same amount of power into 1, 2, 3, and 4 ohm loads. the AQ1200 is tough to beat for the price. That would give you plenty of power at 3 ohms too

You match up ohms.. your sub is 6 ohms you say, you can wire the subwoofer to the amp a certant way to "turn" the subwoofer into a different ohm. So you can wire the subwoofer to the amp so that the subwoofer will "turn" into 3ohms instead of 6.
