after much consideration between jl subs, aq subs, dd subs, and Fi subs, my bestfriend ignored me completely and bought a 15" L7.

wtf.

he's paying me to make him a box, but instead of starting from scratch, i was wondering if anyone has already built a box for a l7 15, only because they're such a common sub and a know quite a few of the regulars here work in shops.

he says he wants it ported, and can be 36(w)x17(h)20(d). i says itll be roughly 5.7 ft3.

only problem is the port. suggestions on width and length?

I actually had one laying around for a customer who wanted one, but then changed his mind, but then i sold it last week to a diff. customer. It was 5.5 cuft @ 35hz... I could get you a design with a cut-list if you wanna shoot me an email (in my profile)

IIRC Kicker recommends a 45 HZ tuning for optimum enclosure. If that is the case, I would tune lower. 35-38hz.

i think he deserves a 1/2" particle board box put together with finishing nails...and no glue. i hate when people pick your brain for advice then do something totally different than what you tell them

You can go buy a ported box for an L7 and it will be loud. Won't sound good, but that sub won't sound good in a good box either...
