New member Username: Tikiman7Grand Cayman Post Number: 6 Registered: Apr-04 | Looking for cheap simple upgrade. Currently have a Sony Mobile ES head, JBL GTO 4" fronts, Kenwood 6.5" rears. Current setup doesn't have enough power. Don't want subs. Kenwood's are mounted in sealed pods behind the wheelwells. How about replacing the Kenwood's with these http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...tnumber=267-152 and powering all speakers with a small-medium 4-channel amp? |

A midbass typically starts where the sub leaves off at (if in a 3 way component set, for example purposes) It is in no way capable of producing the deep bass a subwoofer can accurately. Truthfully if you want more *mid*bass, get a 6.5" component set and cut the doors to fit them. Those 4" JBL's aren't gonna cut it. Adire Audio Koda component sets have excellent midbass and everything above it. The midbass itself has nearly 6mm one way x-max, a lot for a 6.5" driver. Plus, you'll get better sound quality on top of more midbass. An amp is also a priority, the first priority if you don't upgrade to components, and if you do get components, they should be purchased together. |
