I got the copper in - it should just need the holes drilled and tapped in the right places. I'm all in bunches 'cause I didn't expect them be that much copper :-) I don't have the subs in yet, or a box built so I have a bit of time to pick up the drill press I want to use.

I believe the fuse holders might actually be a bit too big, I'm not sure yet. Anyway, on to pics:

Pic shows the old temporary 1/4" aluminum vs the .75"+ copper. BIG difference.

A little diagram I made when having them made, and to let me line up where to drill the holes.

I didn't consider them to be large enough to be busbars. They don't connect multiple batteries or anything, but I guess technically you're right.

If you don't mind me asking, what did that copper cost you? or how much does it usually cost on average?

Nice find on the flux cap :-)

No output increase yet. Probably wont have money for new amp(s) for a while- at least until after this next baby drops lol. I would love to add a 2nd amp, but I think because of size constraints I may switch to another company when that time comes and still shoot for 20-30kw.

I just thought the copper looked better and would work better than the aluminum I have now. 1"x.25" aluminum vs 1.5"x.75" copper is no comparison, and should leave me room to upgrade down the road.

SomeDonnieDude- I got the hook up, I got them for free! I actually have to trim them down some, but McMaster-Carr website could give you some estimates.

I'll get some pics of my GHETTO drill press tomorrow lol- it's home made for sure.

Just going to let it sit over night and move the 3100 out from under the hood to make room for alternators.

I'm not 100% sure on what's going on alternator wise, but I've been estimated 720 amps at idle when it's all said and done

lol. Sure thing.

Having driven a tahoe/yukon for the past 3-4 years I couldn't go back - I love having so much room for electrical upgrades. Even routine maintenance is so much easier when you can reach things.

You don't need to rig a "homie" drill press as long as you have a Harborfreight nearby. They have decent ones under $50 or so. At least they used to. Great for occasional use. I have a couple models. A table top and a large free standing model.

As with any press be sure to use good bits and lube if it's metal.

No harborfreight near me. Free is better than $50. If it didn't work i was going to just buy a table top from lowes. It seemed to work though :-)

After charging for 12 hours and resting 12 hours:

3100 vs 3400 - a few inches in each direction and what feels like a lot more than 20lbs.

The 3100 under the hood is nice, but it's so big it takes up a lot of room and makes things look really cramped. I prefer the look of this , and my radiator hose thanked me :-)

My drill press lol. It took so long to set up I only got 2 holes drilled. I need a new tap anyway, so I'll probably get things finished tomorrow with the battery portion at least.
Upload
I used graph paper to plot things out before drilling.

I got a PM last night- alts and subs should be in within a week or two.

Thanks guys. Domenico what seems fair for them?

Got a bit more work done- all drilled and threaded. I installed one of the blocks before I had to get busy with other stuff. I think I'm going to have those fuse blocks remade to be a bit smaller.

Pics, and yes I do work in my living room at night lol:

These are the input ground wires, 4 from the front, 1 to the rear most 2 batteries, and 1 to another distro under my seat for my 4 channel, line driver etc etc.

Once I get the other in place it will be time to clean up those wires!
