Well its been a long time coming, been without subs on and off since I bought the avalanche a about 6months ago. Got my DDA-series mids and highs in w/ the C4a awhile back, but only built the shell for my 2-DD3515 6th order. Been sticking single 10's and 8's in the shell to demo, did 144.x @ 47hz w/ a single DD2510 in a half-assed 6th order using the shell.

Got my alarm/rs on, so now its time to actually build this thing!

HELL of a lot of wedges:

The shell, allows me to have 1/2 the bed.

Double baffle w/ recessed subs. A few of the wedges going it.

Mocked up in the shell for a pic.

Also built a 2-DD1508 box for a customer today.
1.8cuft, ~37hz, recessed subs and wedges everywhere. Its for an '04 Mustang, going w/ a DDM80 for power.

I'll be back at it tomorrow. Not sure what color I'm going to paint the inside of my 6th order. Make some suggestions. Interior of the Avalanche is grey, exterior is black.

Still have to deside on an amp for the 2 DD3515's too. I have an IA 20.1 for now, but going w/ a DD amp or 2 later. They are D1.5ohm

paul......no.
no gheylites.

kyle,
this in a series tuned 6th order. low tuned ported bow firingi nto a high tuned ported chamber. i designed this one to have pretty flat responce from 30 to ~100hz. should a little boost down low ....30-45hz.

outside demins are 49w * 19t * 30d. i plan on building an amp/batt rack in front of the box and wrapping it in black vinyl.

So, what color do you guys think I should paint the inside of the box?

The subs and common chamber will be very visible. The front port is 12"w x 17.5"t.
The 3515's have 6" carbon fiber dustcaps also...the same ones I ran in my '98 silverado awhile back.

I'm finishing the box today. Came into the shop to work on it.
Should have it shot together in about an hour...need to run to Lowes and get the paint.

Thinking silver/grey?

Outside black inside grey? I say lighter color in the chamber. So is this box more for SQ or spl or inbetween? I'd like to do something diff for my car but I want 65/35 SQ/SPL. either with the D6s or RL-is. You guys are like 4hrs from the coast right? I don't think my local shop built my 3 10 box right

I'm in Monroe, La. Just north of I-20.

This box is designed to (hopefully, lol) sound great and hammer the lows...30-45hz. But still play 50hz-80hz pretty flat.

I don't think he wants L.E.Ds, if he did I have alot laying around lol.

Canaan, you could always go to walmart and pick up some rope lights and run them down your port

Kyle,

There is a USACi comp coming up in Jackson at Top Dollar Pawn on 1/30 at noon. I'll either have the van or my Avalanche there hopefully.

As for the lights, I'll have to see how dark it is inside the box after I get it in the truck.

Yes, will update soon.

I built the box and it has just been sitting in the back of the shop. NickV is laying fiberglass on his pods right now, we are going to get on trim panels and amp rack for my Avalanche tonight.

Not really looking for #'s, more for flat response.
Daily 148ish will do just fine, great sound is the plan...we have the van to be a little louder.

true, true. how did you design this box? Win ISD?

Well, somewhat...more based some ideas I have been working on.
You can't really plot in-cabin response w/ box building programs like WinISD and BBP6. My ideas and calculations seemed to have worked out in SuperGumby's build over on CA.com...He designed the box and I ran his box design thru my calcs and the response he say in-cabin were pretty much dead on w/ my predictions.

Hopefully its not a fail, lol
