The Fi Q or the RE that is about the same price?

i believe its the RE SE?

either 15 or 18 dont know yet

Not really comparable. I would say an SE would be closer to an Fi SSD?

we call that SQL. personally i'd go with a BL but the Q will sound a little tighter and drop a tad lower. if you have the room, go with an 18. you won't regret it.

okay, thankss,

trying to figure out if i got room for the 18

idk if ill do a box i might do a wedge, 30in width, 35in height1 24in height2 and 16in depth 3/4in thickness

would that work? comes out to like 7 cu. ft?


or just a 30x35x16in box, comes out to like 8 cu. ft?

so we talking about a Ford Ranger here or we Talking about a Ford F550? lol

you can take out all the seats and build a lil amp rack next to your box so you have more room for your box, and on the amp rack put another level over it and you can you can put tools or what ever thing you want and everything looks clean

its a toyota tacoma. kingcab type thing. seats cant be takn out. not much room but do you think i have enough space with one of those boxs to fit a 18, says it needs 6-10 cu. ft. ?

what im wondering is are those boxs to small or good enough. ?

link failed and should have the room, 18" would be sick!

here is specs

Q 15 -- We recommend using a sealed box in the neighborhood of 2-2.6 cubic feet of volume (after all displacements for those wondering).

Ported box we recommend using 2.8-4 cubic feet @ 28-33Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume.

Q 18 -- We recommend using a sealed box in the neighborhood of 4-8 cubic feet of volume.

Ported box we recommend using 6-10 cubic feet @ 28hz tuning, you can tune a little higher if you wish but we recommend keeping it under 32hz. Again the same 12-16 square inches of volume applies per cubic foot of volume

you could still take it out if you really wanted to... but from that picture i see an 18" behind your head with a slot port or a few aeros against the window firing across the cabin. t'would be beautiful.

you can build your box around the seat just have it sit on it and get it mounted in some way that it doesn't move. could make a sweet little amp rack against the unused portion of the back area (where your port(s) would be firing). just my idea though

when you do a sealed box, is it the bigger = better SQL? or would a 4 cube and a 5 cube be about the same?

depends on the driver being used. bigger isn't always better. you should check out the specs and practicality of the sub before you decide on one, and also what you want out of your system. usually a quick email to the company can provide a lot of answers as well.

in your guys opinion if you listen to rap music would you prefer a 4 or 5 cu. ft. sealed box or a 6 or 7 cu. ft. ported box at about 28 hz with the Q18 or would the 15 sound better with rap?

i was saying sealed to save room but id go ported 6 cu at 28Hz, it will get down in that truck!

Q18 ported. had mine at 28hz with ~7cuft. managed to fit it in my trunk somehow, but yeah loved that thing. dropped friggin low.

alright thanks guyss, what kind of amp did you have powering it? over rms? or about rms


would a JL 500 do a good job? or need alot more power?

alrighttt, is there a reason that the 10, 12, 15, and 18in subs all have the same rms?

shouldnt the rms go up as does the size of the sub?

well they rate subs at safe power level, sure you can give them more power but they wont last as long,

look at it this way the RD HW can take 3k daily and 30.000 burp

or look at Hunter he has one that has two 3250s strap on one 18" HW that's x2 the power.

just got to be careful and now how far you can push it with out going to far
