so i was in my car trhe other day and decied to flip the switch for my subs. normally everything runs fine, temp gauges read normal, voltage maintains ~14.4, but todayyyy

my voltage dropped below 9. the subs are obviously doing it cuz when they're not running the electrical is fine..

my buddy has a kinetik 600 FS for 30 bucks and if i get it:
1) will it help my voltage, and
2) will it be wired directly onto my car's circuit? like power from batt under the hood to neg on 600 and pos on 600 to chassis?

im really lost on this one, never had to put another battery in on just a 1250w rms setup before

well buying another battery is not going to solve it. Find out what happened first and fix the problem

Dude, please take your vehicle to a QUALIFIED, REPUTABLE and CAPABLE car audio shop. From what you've posted the odds are pretty good that you're going to either hurt yourself, someone else, a combination of the two or burn/blow something down/up.

Go to Advance Auto Parts (if they have that in your area) or probably other auto parts stores do this check too. They can do a free check on your alternator and battery to see if either is having a problem.

x2 with sean. It sounds like a faulty alternator if none of your wiring has come loose. Normally it's considered anything below 12-12.5 is running off the battery.

Either your battery is bad or your alternator, or your bad battery strained your alternator to death.

There are other things it could be, but check that first and let us know how it goes.

Also don't hook up that battery like that! (+ goes to +) and (- to -/chassis).

2x that. DO NOT HOOK IT UP + to -. This will double the voltage up to around 24 and fry all the computer systems in the car and possibly set it on fire.

I think there's something wrong with your voltmeter, that or you hooked it up to the gain maybe?

Alright, you can rule that out then. Maybe your gain pot is damaged.
