ill keep it short
400-700$ budget
need new HU and speakers(possible amp)
need headunit with decent ipod interface
2000integra speaker upgrade
6.5 componet up front and coax in the back

1) should i even bother with rear speakers? just amp the the front and leave the rear empty?
2) if i amp the front channel will the HU amp transfer power to the back speakers? (ie 18wrmsx4 => 36wrmsx2)?
3)to get bass is it worth looking into 6.5" "sub drivers for the rear ?

i am willing to buy used and off the net including ebay..... thanks for your time

just pretend im your clueless girlfriend that likes a lil bass and ur building her a system.... but anything past building me a system and ur gunna run into some problems :P

Don't bother with rear speakers. Spend the money on an amp.

HU will not transfer power as you suggest.

If you want something that's going to sound decent, look for a real subwoofer...not 6.5's

Make it easy for yourself: New HU, 4-channel amp, front components, one sub. Run the components off the front two channels, bridge the back 2 channels for your sub.

if you want some bass a nice 8" or two should do the trick. don't bother with rear fill unless you really want to blow more money. Exige pretty much gave you the blueprints to follow. get a real nice set of components up front, a decent HU, a little bass for the rear and spend the rest on the amp.

If you don't want lound bass, you could get a nice set of midbass speakers for the rear and good components for the highs up front all run on a 4-channel amplifier.

$20 - 8 or 4 gauge wiring kit
$150 - Headunit ( Pioneer Premier DEH-P410UB )
$235 - decent amp ( Rockford Punch P400-4 )
$170 - comp. speakers ( MB Quart PVI 216 )
$135 - midbass (MB Quart PVI 164)

If you can fit it under one of your front seats it would save amount of wire used, or run it to the trunk ( which is less wire for the rear speakers )

i want a good HU that has solid ipod interface
somewhere in the 200-300 price bracket
double dinns work too
and since im not gunna be using the HU's mosfet it doesnt need a on board amp(highly doubt thats avoidable these days) and sub 14wrms is fine since im not using it

any suggestions?

The pioneer premier 510UB and 410UB are both great headunits. USB and IPod direct hookup. Very nice to have. I use the 510UB and use an 8GB USB Flash Drive. My friend loves his 410UB and only uses his iPod, very good quality out of those units.

Why spend 300 of your 700 on a head unit when you dont need too? 400 for speakers and 4-channel is gonna give you not so good quilty stuff.

I would stay away from the MB Quartz setup as recommended earlier.. Much better products available for same or less prices...

DUDE IF I WERE YOU I WOULD TOTALLY GET THOSE JBLs THAT BRAD SUGGESTED! those look soooo sweet! the grill surrounding the cone but leaving the tweet out looks awesome, and then for flush mount all you do is screw the houseing in trim???

most useful and easy to install sets ive ever seen.
