I had a friend install my two Alpine type R subs a while ago. but now I want to upgrade my system and get a better amp and deck. However, the two subs are slightly different and I dont know how to tell what theyre specs are. They are both 12" Type R's but one has a smooth rubber edge while the other has a few ridges around the edge. I bought them at different times from Ebay so I no longer have the boxes either. I'm not sure if anyone knows the difference, but I would appreciate any help. thanks

I have, and they are not providing any help in distinguishing the two subs... I really dont want to have to tear apart my box to check the back of the subs, but no one seems to know how to tell the difference otherwise.

Oh yeah, those are the two different types. Ive been looking all over for that! I have them in the same sealed box which was wired to an Alpine amp by a friend of mine. It's time for a new amp and deck because I know the current amp isnt all too powerful and honestly I'm not even sure it was designed to support two subs. So if you have any suggestions to what amps I should look at, I'd really appreciate it!
