What is your budget?

Im on DLS's nuts so Im gonna recommend which ever set you can afford out of these

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/viewcat.php?manufacturer_id=210&category_id=73&so rt_order=price_asc

Ebay probably has them cheaper though.

always depends on what you wanna spend. Hertz has some pretty awesome speakers that you would be very happy with. Ive heard them in a rather large room and they filled the whole room with ease and sound so clean. They are not harsh either.

but depending on how much you wanna spend im not sure which model to recommend..

on the DLS C5A series should i amplify both tweeter and midrange off the same channel like ive always done? or is that why im blowing all my tweets?

and my budget is about 130 max per set, but ill prolly get the DLS C5's

I used to run D3's a couple years ago. They are nice for 100 bucks. Not sure how much they are now though. I still got 'em too. I would go with something else though. The D3's only come with aluminum tweets and they're kinda harsh. I upgraded to HEX's and it was pretty a much night and day difference.

yeah i still have the diamond d3's in my car waiting for enough bank to grab the Hertz HSK 165's. I got a dealer down here that is going to sell me two sets for only $560 BNIB. They are retail price 800 a set.

Not sure what you mean but this is how you should hook up components

Unless of course you are running them active but I think its safe to say you are not,no offense.

Also you said your budget is $130 per set,how many sets are you planning on getting? I would just buy one good set of comps up front, dont worry about the rear.

^ that diagram is how im doin it. sweet i thought i was doin it right... what is "running them active?"

anyways, but when i only have one nice set up front and none in the rear I dont like the way it sounds... its too flat. no surround, unless theres a setting somewhere that would change that..

im in a cherokee so its like if theres no rear sound then its just highs in front and lows in the back and you can clearly tell when sitting anywhere in the car.

damn i love car audio. seriously.

Well if I were you I would buy a nice set of comps for front and throw some decent coax in the rear. Amp the comps for front and just run the coaxs off HU and it should sound fine.

would R5 comps be comparible to the MS5 series?

Im not really sure but I would say that the MS5A comps would be a lot different than the R5s. The MS5A uses a completly different tweeter and the mids are made up of different material. I have the MS6A 6.5s and love them. Mid bass is very punchy and tweet is very detailed without being too loud.

If you could up your budget a little bit I really think this is a great deal

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2009-DLS-UP5I-2-Way-5-25-Component-System_W0QQitemZ18042 3336658QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Speakers?hash=item2a0211a2d2

Or if you could fit 6.5s these

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2009-DLS-MS6A-6-5-2-WAY-Components-System_W0QQitemZ15038 2170741QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Speakers?hash=item230379d275

You could also contact tristateaudio on ebay and see if he has any 5.25 MS5A sets that have not been listed.
