I finally went and set my output on my amp to the corrrect voltage. According to the JL 500/1 manual for a 3 ohm load it should be at 38.7 volts. After setting it to the correct voltage I had to turn the gain, +db, up to a little past +13 for it to sound the way I wanted it to. Before I set the voltage I had no idea what it was set to, I had never messed with it. However I never had to turn my gain up past +0 db. Is this normal? Also, to me, rap sounds a lot better now. The bass fills the car more and shakes stuff a lot better. Dustin is making me a box soon so I'm excited to see what it'll sound like after it comes in. Rock music though doesn't have the same kick it used to. The drums just don't seem as punchy. Any ideas on why?
