buddie of mine looking for 6 15s and amps to power them.
wants it to be a loud DD and also play some killer lows. he has some upgraded electrical, but doesn't want to spend much more than 1500 on subs and amps

im not to sure what he can get in the price range, because that is a lot of subs,
let me know what u all think

6 15s might be a bit overkill for a daily driver

what does he currently have?
what kind of car?
what electrical upgrades?

imho for that budget he is wasting time\$ doing 6 probably weakish 15s

some1 with 2 powerful subs like 2 18s can come & blow him out

maybe 8 12s type R & a used atomic 5k for that price range ...

he has a blazer. 2001 i think.
he is looking at getting 8 12s also.
he is just wanting a lot of cone area with out getting junk.
i mean it will be using up a ton of space but i think 8 12s would sounds pretty crazy compared to a pair of 18s if the power was close to the same

he isn't going to fit 6 15s in there, if he goes sealed, maybe, but highly unlikely. And since he is taking advice from a pro like you....he would prob try some stupid excessiveshit that will sound like poo and won't get near as loud as one 15. Trust me.

Just build him a wall... he'll be 140's in no time.

Q. How do you get dBLK to build a 150 Db. system?

A. Give him a 160 db system and tell him to improve it.

Yes dBLK. No offense but you do deserve a majority of it. You've been given great advice from people who have done what you wanted and you've ignored it.

Why does he want 6 15"s? Going for the wow factor or does he think that will be the loudest? Grab 2 15"s or 2 18"s (whichever tickles your fancy) and throw however much power you decide to run to them. Seriously, there's no need to try and force 6 15"s to fit when its too tight. Make a proper box for less subs.

Regardless of what you think of your peers, you're not fitting 6 15s ported properly back there. Trust me.

So non walled but up to the B pillar? If that's the case there is room for 6 15s.
If he's doing that though why not just do a wall? Then I'd say 4 15s. You'd need 3 amps to wire things up properly with 6 subs.

You say some upgraded electrical, what does that mean exactly? It is important to know what upgrades exactly he has and will make to determine what subs and amps.

hes going to end up with low budget subs running that many

if he will settle on 4 15s.. how about 4 15" RE SEs tuned at 32hz :-)

4 - $968.76 shipped

then all you need is 2400ish watts.. which for $500 and under a lot of amps fall into..

Would be a nice setup there ^.

But if the electrical upgrades me 1 run of 4g and a $45 walmart special battery thrown in back he doesn't have the charging system for it. Just need that info before looking for 300w each subs or taking your advice.

he has the big 3, and a pair of these really big wet cell batteries. they are 120lbs per batterie. massive things, stock alt though.
i was actually looking at the re SEx 15s, trying to get 6 of them and maybe he can save up for bigger amps later.
what place has RE stuff the cheapest?

he doesn't want a wall,

eBay

4 SEs would be plenty on 2400rms.. he'd have to do a lot of electrical work to properly power 6 SX 15s
