I'm about 99% set on the Alpine 9886 and am about to buy it but before I do, I just wanna make sure I'm not over looking any HU's for under $300. Anyone got any suggestions? I wanna buy tonight cause I need to install my stuff before I just sell it lol

I have a 9886 and its great. It has HPF's in it you can adjust great Sub control, it will do bluetooth audio(very handy on a camping trip) the USB on the back i just stick a 10G flash drive in it with about 1300songs and go! good choice dude.

Pretty much the same features of a base model Pioneer 5100. Seriously, cheap radios are coming with all those features now. The Clarion or the Eclipse would be the way to go if you like nice a nice crossover :-)

If you steer towards eclipse, add another bill and get the cd 7200mkII (sonicelectronix). Superb unit.

If you decide to go alpine, the 9887 would be an excellent choice. Add the imprint kit etc.. for more precise tuning.

I've had no experience with clarion...
