Hey, I'm planning on my first system. I've done some researching and I've have planned the following.

For my sub I'm planning to get either Image dynamics 12d4.v3 or Elemental designs 13Av.2. I will be getting Ed nine.1 to run either subs.

For my speakers I currently have eclipse components forgot which model but run at 75 rms 150 peak. For the amp I'm still deciding on what to get to power the components.

Also for the H.U. I'm planning to get eclipse new multi-media avn726e.

So my questions are if I was to build my own box for the subs how big should it be? Tuned ? ported or sealed?
For the amp kit should I use a 0 gauge? What brand kit?
Which sub would be better for price?
Which amp should I get to power my components?
My price range for my whole system is around 2k.

Thanks in advance for Reponses

Those two subs are totally different. To run the ID with that amp, you would need to run it @ a 4 ohm load. whereas you could give the ED sub the full ~1200 wrms. The enclosure recommendation would depend on which sub you choose. I love my alpine mrp-f550 for my comp sets. It does more than enough.

My advice: Get a different amp unless you are buying a used one or already own it. It is NOT worth the wait.

good luck

As for now I'm leaning more to the IDmax. If I was to get it which amp would you recommend? I'm looking for one in the price range of 200$. As for my power/ground wire would 0 gauge be recommended?

I just noticed that you changed from the ID12d4 V.3 to the IDMAX.... I like the sounds of that much better and get the Dual 2 ohm v.c. to run the RD at 1 ohm.
