So we ("Daniel says" and I) are currently working on a project for a local club opening called Impulse. We have been working on it for a couple days now so the thread is a little late but we have lot's of pics coming up, including 2 18's for the subs and 2 12's for the mains with a horn/compression driver. Lot's of pics to come.

On the mains, there are two ports (which you can partially see in the design)

This is for a PA setup or what? What speakers are you going to use?

^^^^ Same thing I was wondering (what speakers they used). I wish these guys would have gotten with me about woofers and compression drivers etc. I have been building (and using on the road) FOH speakers since I was a teen. That D'Appolito configuration on your mains is kind of tricky in pro sound apps. I hope you got some advice on that design. Anyways, good luck to you guys.

The mid-bass drivers are eminence delta 12b's and the compression drivers are selenium 220ti-8's mated with a selenium exponential horn. The x-over will be a 3rd order linkwitz at 1.6kHz that im making. The enclosures are 1.75ft^3 (per chamber) at 65hz and will be used with a 4th order butterworth at 60hz for the high pass

here are some build pics

all of the pieces layed out (five 4'x10' sheets)

Love the bracing work. What did you use to design them?

Other than that it looks good bro.

It shouldn't restrict it too much. The brace directly behind the sub has a little under 800 sq cm of openings to the rear of the enclosure, which is about 210sq cm less than the surface area of the cone. It will restrict it somewhat but I seriously doubt the difference will be audible

Alright guys,

Basically we have been sanding and puttying for a couple days straight (seems like it) and the boxes are all ready for the finish. The boxes came out perfect, exactly how it was designed. You can't feel any seams or holes for all four boxes. Here are more pics: :-)

So we tested everything out at a couple local Fraternities and they sound AMAZING. By FAR the best system i'v heard at any club. The mains are very loud, clean and crisp and the subs blend in with the mains perfectly. For our demo's we like to play the subs at full potential for a couple songs to see what the people in the house think. When we do that they are completely amazed. We've been around subs for a while and when we had them hooked up in the basement of a frat house at full volume I was shaking a little afterwords. So loud that chunks of the ceiling were falling down. We have a total of ~ 13k going to everything and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. enjoy!
