just bought a car and need a better sound system.

this is what i was thinking, but need an expert opinion.

2Lanzar MAX12D subs
12" 500W Dual 4-ohm
375 RMS

hooked up to

1Lanzar MXA232 amp
2 channel 1000W 4-ohm
250-500 RMS

and

4 Lanzar HRT tweeters
1" 100W 50 RMS

hooked up to

1 Soundstorm 2F400
2-channel 400W
170 RMS

can buy this online for $394 and im making my own ported box.

will only be buying the subs+amp at first though. and later on getting tweeters+amp

there are far better options out there than lanzar, whats your overall budget? What kind of sound are you going for? what vehicle is this going in?

around $400
good sound quality.. im not competing or anything, this is for my ears while everyday driving - i don't have a problem with 10's either.

well with 400 would you mind going with a 1 12 or even 1 15 setup? I'm not familiar with your car so i'm not sure if it's a boat or not.

thanks rovin, just a question.. if I do go with the ssd 15" or even 12", should i get dual 1 ohm, or dual 2 ohm

dual 1 or dual 2... depends on the amp you end up getting

if you are just going to get a single sub, i would advise getting a dual 2ohm, that way you can wire it down to a final impedance of 1ohm.

there are wayyy more less expensive options for getting 800-1000rms at 1ohm than at 2 ohm



moral of the story:
get the dual 2 ohm
