my budget for this amp is like 250? im going to be buying it online so i can get a discount for it being used.

ALSO are the SPR-17S 6-1/2" Component 2-Way Speaker good?

im working on my set up and want;;
4 SWR-1242D type r's
2 SPR-17S Component sets
2 2channel amps
1 4channel amps

BUT dont know what amps! HELP!!!

AND would i need an extra car battery or capacitor(s)?

audioque 1200 would be the cheapest amp, $250 shipped new.

type r comps? ehh, nothing special at all.

why 2 pair?

if running 2 pair of comps off of 2 2 channel amps, what's the 4 channel for?

and no cap.!

is 500 rms the true rms of the type r's?

im wanting two type r comps to match...BUT
if there is a better option for around the same price, can you please let me know. THANKS!

I want two pairs of them so i can put two speakers in the front and two in the back.

i want the 1 4 channel amp for the componets since im buying 2 sets.

i want the 2 2channel amps for my 4 type r subs cause im thinking i might want to instal a toggle switch to 1 of the amps and 2 of the subs so if i dont want all of the bass at once i can turn two of the subs off. Should i or should i not?

I dont have a plan for how i want my system to be yet just a bunch of ideas rambling in my head. someone mentioned the toggle switch to me, but idk if i wanna go with it.

i was told bridging 4 type r's to a 1000rms amp would be fine...it confused me that the subs are 500rms each. is 500 not the true rms?

i know im asking alot of questions but im in need of help and need to know what i need to get for my system.

500w is the rms of the type r, but they can handle much more.

and are you getting 4 type r subs, or 2? cause in your first post you say you have 2, now you're saying 4.

use a mono amp for the subs, like the audioque i suggested. would work perfect and is right in your price range.

just get 1 nice component set for the front, you don't need a second in the back. that way you can combine the money you were going to spend on the 2 sets and get a pretty nice set. so. then a 2 channel amp for the components. for the rears, you can leave them be or replace them and leave them running of the head unit. that's what you'll see most people here doing.

so, post a budget for comps and 2 channel.

havent heard of any of these three brands
so i didnt know if these brands are better then audioque
thanks for the help ctmike

Visonik specs

HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi-1210D class D (would wire to 1ohms)
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 450 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan.
1 ohm: 1200 watts x 1 chan.

honestly, never used the audioque or the two you listed.

the audioque from what i've read is a pretty good amp. slightly underrated, and a good price for 1200w.

visonik, complete trash though. have never read anything at all good about that brand, on any forum.

the hifonics is a very good 'budget' brand. i have used a couple, just to play around with, and they were ok. however, if you search around on hifonics you'll see that they overrate their amps, which means you wont get the full 1200w from it at 1ohm. probably around 1000w, give or take.

with that said, the audioque would be my choice of the three. there's plenty more 1200w amps, but for your budget it's perfect.

Okay, im leaning towards the audiopue1200D

it is possible for me to get more money...

but the exact amount? i do not know.

so ''not to be a pain in the azz'' could you list a couple good amps prices varying from like 300-400 bucks?

thanks mike

first, to dakota dude. start your own thread if you have a question. don't post a question in another persons thread.

to the op, you can buy the ed and the sundown direct.
www.edesignaudio.com
www.sundownaudio.com

and there's also several online dealers for sundown, you can find them on the site.

can't help you there. i'd suggest going to caraudio.com and getting hold of bjfish (think that's his screenname). his name is bj and he runs fisher customs. amazing boxes.
