So I was thinking about getting an HC2000 for a starter battery up front. Want to know if anyone else has any experience with Kinetik. Someone told me about having a short service life. Tried looking it up but didnt come up with much. Just want to know if this is true or not.

ya they are good. but really for the money i would just get a big battery at walmart up front. it wont discharge as fast but its not as much slower as u think. as long as u have a good battery bank u don't really need a dry cell up front. imo
but i am por too

It will be fine up front.

It's not the discharge rate that people car about really, it is the reserve capacity that is critical.

dBLK tries, but fails as usual.

The Kenetic is fine for the front. If you ever add a 2nd battery try to keep it as the same brand/type unless it is isolated.

alright thanks fellas. I'll probably just end up getting the HC2000 up front and if needed be, I will add a second HC2000 in the back.

Hm, you think I would be better off with that or the Kinetik. What numbers should I really be looking at, I'm a noob when it comes to battery specs.

^^^ and everything else. lol

i can get the sheuriken bt120 for ~325 shipped.. equiv to the kinetik 2400... I understand that it is prob too big to fit under your hood in factory, but I can check on pricing for the equiv of the hc2000 if you would like.

I was readin up on those batts. and I read somewehre that they dont suggest running it under the hood. I could maybe squeeze a HC2400 under the hood. And the HC2400 is 310 shipped, so I would go with that over the sheuriken.

look at internal resistance and the ody. will way outperform the kinetik size for size.
the only problem with the shr. batt is the size. if you go to any comps it is way to big and automatically get thrown in with the big dogs.

Yeah, I think I might just go with that Odyssey. Looks like a killer batt.

The shuriekin batts come off the same assembly line as the kinetiks. And for the Usaci classes I compete in, Battery sizes don't matter.

As for 310 shipped for the hc2400, please send a link. I get the bt120 for 275+ shipping, but Idon't think i can beat the 310 and might be interested in a couple. Thanks

but why though. my battery up front is going bad already, so why would I spend more money for one up front, and then a deep cycle in the back.

snow what comp org. are around you. that should be your deciding factor. usaci doesn't care but dbdrag does. that is what i base my decisions on. being limited on battery size and quanity it make a diff. on the selection. me and some team mates have tested just about every batt under the sun and almost always the kinetik has come in last or any variation of them. the pm xs,stinger/odyessey and northstar are the frontrunners

yeah, dbdrag is the organization around me. I think I'm just going to go with the Odyssey, and plus it's a little bit cheaper.

i have a Kinetik hc2400 under the hood of my 08 silverado and it works wonderful. HUGE difference from the stock battery. I could tell even the first time i cranked my truck with it plus i have absolutly zero dimming now... i would go with the kinetik
