what do you think this thing will do if it can? If it could the gain will be set low, all I need is about 1700watts-1900watts. I'll be running 3 D2s subs, what do you guys think the final load will be when its all hooked up. Subs are RL-i 10s

I can get a good deal on it. And if it works it works, even if it is over rated. I read a few threads about ppl getting rated power out of that amp @ 14.4 less at than rated at 12 of course. If it will go below 1ohm then I'll get it, if not then I wont. I wouldn't be able to get the saz-2000d on the sale price right now.

How much would you be willing to add to the trade with the amp?

whats the real read on the subs. My guess is the coils will read around 1.4-1.6 as very few companies do exact readings. This way it kinda counters the impedance rise, also are you just guessing on .8 with impedance rise or have you checked it with another amp? Just curious, as that will help me give you a better answer.

it was a guess. I put my dmm on each coil last night, 4.6-4.8 I wired all the subs up, no amp though, and I came up with 1.2. So I'm pretty sure I'll be fine

did you also check to resistance of your DMM to get those readings on the coils? On the same DMM settings touch the red and black probes together and subtract that reading from each coils readings. i'll bet that you get .6 to .8 ohm reading when you do what I'm talking about. If not then those coils may have problems

"all you can do is try it if it gose to protect shut it off"

Unless it blows first, then it will shut itself off haha.

"I read a few threads about ppl getting rated power out of that amp @ 14.4"

Bench results with a scope? or people using a clamp and dmm?

yeah, I got .7-.8. so do I need to subtract that from each coil or the over all ohm load?

On the testing, I read one bench test I believe 2701 @ 14.4v 2621 @ 13.8v or something and 2450 @ 12.2v

another one was 2589 @ 14.4v 2501 @ 13.8

But if its over 2k I really dont care. I don't need that much.

if I had the 485 to get the pre order price I would lol.

I found another test and it did 2589 @14.4v

why worry about such a low ohm load. Wire them in series, parallel for a 1.34 ohm lload. should still be close to your 2000 wrms. plus amp will be better off. That seems to make the most sense to me.

Heck I might just wire it to 2.67, and listen to it like that for a while so how I like it.

where are you getting 2.67 as a possible impendance? the next option would be 3 ohm then 12 ohm

you are in the same boat i am in, if you run them paralleled all the way, you are looking at ~.34 ohm before imp rise, which I will be doing for burps and 1.34 for daily. The .34 or so load is absolutely out of the question for the hifonics amp.

As for the .7 DMM reading. If you have all subs wired together then you are looking at the ohm load, then you would subtract .7 from that. But if you are reading each coil individually then you would subtract it from each reading.

so it'll be like .95 I don't think that should be a problem. Thanks guys
