it would be for use in competitions my car peaks at 50 hrtz so i figured tuning to 48 would be good for just one L7 what do you all think

No one here really answered your question lol.

Your tuning is not in the box, but moreso in the vehicle. You can drop a box in a trunk car or a SUV and tuning can drop ~10hz.

Lets start by asking which vehicle you have and where you plan on placing the box. Then we can answer your question.

my car is a 2004 dodge intrepid. my local shop got my resenece of the trunk with the speakers firing back towards the trunk and the speakers firing fowards which backwards was 50 and forwards was 35.

Try a multiple port box.
That way you can plug a port and tune lower for daily.

What size L7 do you have?

No, you plug the entire port.

For instance, a 2.5cuft box w/ 3-4" flared ports 15" long will tune to 48hz. Plug one, and it retunes to 40hz.

What size L7 do you have?

How do you figure?
Your FR may change based on the dimensions of the room (or cabin in this case) due primarily to cabin gain, or the lack of it, but the box is the box.

Sure, the box is the box. But in this case the box is going into a car, which can and will effect tuning, even if just a little.
