I have a Clifford Matrix RS2.5X alarm system. My remote broke and subsequently bought a new one (479X Model 7701V, 4 Button Responder, SST, Stealth Code Remote) which is compatible with this alarm system. I am having a difficult time syncing this remote with the alarm system. The valet button, alarm, and security light are all functional. The instuctions that came with the alarm remote say:
1. Open door 2. Turn key to ON position 3. Within 5 seconds press and release the valet button 1 time 4. Press valet button another time and hold 5. Press lock button on remote
- At step 4, I hear a chirp. - At step 5 my remote will beep several times indicating no single is found. - Not long after, my alarm will chirp several times indicating it is leaving learning mode.
I have a feeling the instructions on the back of the remote are not specific to my alarm. In fact, at the very begining the instructions indicate in order to enter the learn routine, the system's valet switch must be plugged into the BLUE port. Should I confirm this?
