hey guys ive heard that you shouldnt use more than 3 or 4 feet for your ground wire for your amps, i was wondering if this is true or not because i would like to use the same ground i currently use, but relocate my amps. this would require a foot or two more of ground.

also i was wondering if it was ok to just run another wire from the negative of the battery to use as a ground instead of going through the body. thanks

There is no reason a ground wire cant be longer than a few feet. The best possible ground actually is a wire to the battery negative.

People ground to the frame because it is easier and it works just fine up to a certain point. When you start running 0 gauge or bigger power wire thats when resistence is a body ground may acutally come into play.
