Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 205 Registered: Apr-06 | Right now I have an 18" RD Alpha (2000w) powered by a Hifonics bxi2006d (2000wrms) and 4awg wire and I have a few questions and hopefully I can get a couple answered.. 1. Would there be a noticible improvement if I upgrade to a 2awg wire? 2. Right now my lights do not even flicker at all at high volume, but my music will distort. Could this be because of the smaller wire? 3. In your opinion, Would it be worth the upgrade to buy a Hifonics bxi2610d, which would put out 600 watts more (2600wrms)? 4. If this wouldn't be worth it, what would be an amp that would be good to upgrade to that is less than or around $500? Thanks for the help |

Silver Member Username: Vivi2000Owosso, Mi Post Number: 170 Registered: Aug-07 | You need to upgrade to 0awg wire with that much current draw. also the 06/08 line of hifonics amps are overrated(mine is rated for 1200w but does ~900 before i can hear the distortion) so if you got a true 2000w amp, such as the AQ2200d, im sure that would make a difference too. I have also heard that the 10 line of hifonics amps are much better and not overrated nearly as much, or will do rated power, but I have no experince with those. |
