do I have to line the inside of the box? or do I let it sit on the bottom (so the top of the box is air, and the bottom is polyfill)

Well you can glue it to the wall with some 3m 90 strength becuase you dont want it getting inside the voice coils or I belive you can let it lay loose on the inside.

In a sealed box....1 pound of polyfill per every cubic foot.

Brett It is not a very good idea to put polyfill in a ported box. It is ok for sealed boxes but not ported.

with polyfill in a sealed box you very loosely add about a pound of poly for every cubic foot of space.
that usually fills the box about half way.

for ported boxes its easier to line the enclosure with rolled poly and a staple gun so it won't blow out the ports.
otherwise the next time you open your trunk, it's like Christmas in June.
