Never heard of spring hill man, but that doesn't mean they don't make a good product. I haven't had much experience with alt manufacturers but I will advise against Iraggi. I have one and it just crapped out on me this past saturday. Its only been in my car about 7 months too. So im looking for a new alt as well.

You should know that M.S. usually goes off what he has heard, not from hands on experience. How foolish of you

Your sh!t talking on me is really uncalled for... YOU are the one who is wrong by saying I go by what I have heard and not expierence. You don't know me. You don't know what equipment I have used/installed.

Most everything I say ESPECIALLY stuff related to electrical systems is from personal expierence. Either that or what certain friends that I trust have told me about stuff they have used.

M.S.:

Your know-it-all-and-everything-else-is-wrong attitude is uncalled for. YOU are the one that is assuming stuff is the best, when you have not tried it all. I know this well enough from previous posts throughout the archive. I do not need to know the equipment you have used and installed because you have said it yourself that you have not messed with certain things.

PS: Don't get too offended, pls.

Lets not crap up Rovin's thread with another pointless argument.

Every alt company mentioned here is extremely legit. It's the user's choice to pick the one best for their application.

Most of their 200 amp alternators are 105 amp idle.

I never said they were the most powerful alternators. I said IMO they are the best. In terms of quality, price, and performance all together. I think it should go without saying that when anyone recommends one product over another that is their opinion.

Nick:
You are still wrong by saying I base my opinions on "what I have heard" and not experience (or friends experiences). That is quite simply not true and you have no possible way of knowing that.
We have a difference of opinion on a lot of things and we both know that. Have you ever seen me challenge you on what equipment you have used, and say that your opinions are not from experience. No, and you won't because I have no way of knowing that.

Take it easy man, I was just giving you a hard time lol. Me and you both have different opinions on alot of things, and its good because that gives people choices.

xs 200A which does around 130A at idle vs http://www.motorcityreman.com/technical-info.html

"200 amp units will put out 90-100 amps at idle
250 amp units will put out 120-130 amps at idle"

so do i go with xs or mechman ? ...

ok after i checked the alt on my engine i realize its this shape

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/2001/nissan/sentra/engine_electrical/alternator .html

click the 1st pic

& after really look the various shapes i decided it will be too much stress to get 1 with a different shape & fabricate brackets so im limited to a few choices

so im looking at http://www.db-starter-alternator.com/Items/8260-220%20amp%20focus?&caSKU=8260-22 0%20amp%20focus&caTitle=FOCUS%20HIGH%20OUTPUT%20220%20AMP%20ALTERNATOR%2000%2001 %2002%2003%2004%20%208260

or http://www.springhillautoelectric.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=284

waiting for a reply from ohio gen & nahthan from excessive amperage - does he still do good work or do ppl have problems with his alts ? ...

i just ordered a 200amp H/O alt from Nate at EA i should have it this week. He had emailed him asking him some stuff and he replied back

"You should get about 120 amps at idle and it will come with a 1 year warranty. I have very few problems with my alternators, I sell several hundred of them each year."

so im hoping its reliable and i won't have any problems with it.

well i sent spring hill a email yesterday & they said they ford 3G will fit since it has the same bolt pattern & size but their price is $325 +S\H

so im hoping DB will also confirm if the 3G will fit & since their price is $199 + s\h that will be a big $aving

other thing is springhill alts does its max @ 2100rpm vs DB 1200rpm which is shud be even better so im just keeping my fingers crossed here waiting for a good answer since i patiently have my 2 3000XA powerbass sitting here over a mth in its boxes ....there is a IASCA WRE coming up end of this mth & i hope i can get my sh1t set up in time ...

Let me shed some light on this, the test rating is alternators RPM, not the engines. We test our alternators at the rpm range they would be naturally run or drivin at.

Ask the othe guys what there warranty is,,,,We stand behind ours for 5-Years and it covers parts & labor!

Sure! you can get one cheaper from the other guys, and then you can BUY a 1-year warranty.....What's this????

hey whats up springhill guy - my brother ordered the alt from u all on my behalf

even though nobody on this forum heard of u guys i still decided to go with ur company since all the other companies said they didnt have any for my application or simply said no without explaining anything or it seems like they only had for american vehicles or didnt know what will work for my application

didnt have the slightest clue that the test rating is alternators RPM, not the engines - if im not mistaken : nobody's site has that info on it

i will receive that alt from my bro & have it installed in a few wks time so i will let everybody know how it turned out

u shud make a new thread on here about ur alts & u will get plenty business

...thanks for ur professional way of dealing with me & my bro ....
