Looking for some good staggered amps.
I know JL and DD have some, so far my favorite option is a DD S4. But I want some other options to weigh in.
Looking at like 100x2 and 200x2 staggered amps.
100x2 for tweets, 200x2 for mids.

Good luck in your search. Staggered power amplifiers are becoming less and less regular. I believe DLS made one also, but not positive at the moment. Might want to see if you can find a PG 900.7 and bridge a few channels to get the power you desire.

Ya know 100w is WAY too much for a tweeter right.

You're entitled to your opinion. If it's "too loud", I'll simply turn it down.

Why not just buy a standard 4ch amp? You will not need that full 100w anyways (unless you are planning on having a retarded amount of tweeters lol), so that pretty much rules out the point in having a staggered amp. But like you said you're entitled to your opinion.

I'm pretty set on using a Morel comp set.
These tweeters:

I ran my DD C6.5's active on a C4a for quite awhile w/ no problems at all on the DD t28's, XO 12db/oct @ 3.5k...iirc.. Got NickV in a pair of T28's after he messed up his boston tweets, and he is running the C4a active too.

I am going to DD AT28's very soon though.

Oh...and if you can find 2ohm mids, the C4a would be great.

How much power were you guys actually pushing to your tweets? I would imagine that would be really unbalanced and kinda painful on them real high tones lol.

125 or so per tweeter. My mids have around 150-160 on them, it balances out nice.

The correct crossover settings are extremely important.

Agreed that the crossover changes everything. If set right the tweets would never get the full power at frequencies where it matters.

I guess what I was thinking was, how many people really know enough to set everything up correct... give most people a 100w amp and pair of tweeters and they'd blow them in 5 mins.
