I like the idea Steve. Can wait to see what happens. I would like to see how a RE XXX 05 compares to other subs.

I like the idea because it will take away a lot of the hype of name brands and hopefully show people they don't have to spend a ton of money to essentially just to get a name.

I think it's a good idea. I particularly like the daily part, for everyday listening.

Good idea. But I think the subs should be bought off the shelf. So no cherry picked sub.

I think the best way is to ask each company to donate money not sub. Then the one doing the testing buys it. When testing is done all subs/box will be sold and procceeds would be donated to charity. Dunno just an idea.

Great idea.
Sounds like it would take a lot of time and organization. Maybe split it up to teams.
I thought the "great 12 challenge" was very informative.
It swayed my to chose my subs.

Btw, would the 13 w7 or w6 be considered for testing?

The w7 and w6 wouldn't really fit in with the competition.

Best of luck to Steve, Jacob, Rusty, Scott, and DJ.

Interesting idea. I hope the tests will be conducted by a person who has zero affiliation with any company. If you can figure out a way to have all the variables be equal throughout the tests then this could be a pretty cool test.

Matt will be doing the testing. He is on the Cascade team but I think he'll be very fair and impartial. The numbers won't lie.

Any reason more typically recommended subs such as the BTL or MT were left off the list? More people can relate to those subs so couldn't those almost be comparison points?

What kind of power are you going to test the subs at? All off the same power, same load, same car, same position, etc? I don't know how far you guys have looked into it so I could be jumping the gun with all my questions but I'm just curious as to how it will all be done.

unless we go over 25-30k on a burp the HW will keep up with it.

On bursts the SHW is about the same as the HW until you go over 20K and it starts showing what it is.

Plus if i sent in the SHW there is prob no way to get the v.2 there unless we send a proto.

I guess we will see but the other 3 for sure.

I think ppl spoke to Fi about sending in some subs, but they declined. They may just buy the subs tho and have them in the challenege anyways. At least that's what i've read in the CA forums around.
