Audioque Subs

So... Decided to go with Audioque HDC312's. Just not sure if I should run one or two. Gonna be running a KX 1200.1 amp. So, I would get around 1000w RMS to one sub, or 500w to 2. What would give better performance? I know some subs don't really shine unless given their full power, but in turn, more cone area=more bass. Any advice? They're going in a sealed box, btw.

Really? Port it? I've always had sealed boxes b/c all of the ported boxes i've heard sound too "loose". Maybe they were off the shelf and not tuned right?

I've always built my own. Love messing with stuff too much not to. I was saying the ported boxes i've heard were probably prefab. Space is a factor for me. Installing in an 02 Accord trunk. I guess one in a 1.5-2 cube ported would be ok. Just want to make sure I get the sound I'm looking for.

if u get the hdc3 with only 500 watts to each then they will be very under powered. u would be better off getting the sd2.5s

either get one hdc3 or 2 sd2.5s , that way u wouldn't waste ur money

With that power use 1 sub.

And AQ/DD subs are not meant for sealed boxes, ported only. If SQ is a priority there are other subs better suited for it. Those are best described as SPL subs that can still sound good.

How about one 12'' FI Q, sealed? That should suit your needs. Or a pair of 12'' Diamond D6's, sealed.
