The trick to good midbass is enclosure. A well made and well sealed speaker pod, box, whatever mounted in the door makes all the difference. Usually as large airspace as will fit.

Of couse the speaker does play a part in it, a 6.5" or larger is what you really need for good results.

I agree with MS.
I'd stay away from co-axials as well.

i was thinkin about the RD mid bass, door room is limited though. I could pick up a 2 pairs of those mpyre 6.5s for the pice of 2 RD audio midbass. could i just put 2 6.5s in the door and seal the holes up with dynamat? should i run the amp on low, full, or high pass? if a sealed box is the way to go i'll do that, should i make a box for a pair in each door or 4 seprate boxes? whit kinda specs should i be looking at?

Don't try use dynamat to make an enclosure, make a proper one.

Use one set of speakers, if space is limited you won't have the airspace for 2 and that will give you worse performance.

Yes a sealed box or pod is what you want.

You will need TWO filters for the midbass speakers, a low pass and a high pass. Amps don't have that built in so you'd need an active crossover.

if you have the room, you could do a pair in each door. build nice pods, or have a shop do it for you. imo don't do boxes, looks cheap and tacky.

also, if going with those mpyre mids, they come with a crossover.

agreed about the looks of the little boxes on doors, but some of the best sounding midbass that I have heard were is the lil MDF mini boxes.

believe it or not, but cadence(who I am not a fan of) have some comp sets that put out great midbass for the buck... trust me

looks like what i'll have to do is cut part of the door panel to make room. I'll just have someone make a nice lil pod for them. I think I'll run 2 pairs of those mpyre mids but that's a lil more power than i'd like to run for mids lol. thanks guys I'll let you know what decide.

You are not going to have the airspace for 2 sets

For a set of mids sealed usually as much space as you have works the best.

About 0.3 cuft net is usually ideal if possible.
