Alright these are the amps I am working with:

Lanzar Optidrive SL800D (800RMS)
Orion HCCA D1200 (600RMS)

They are both stable at 1 ohm. Is it overkill to buy 2 subs that are DVC 2 ohm and hook one sub up to each amp at 1 ohm? Or just buy two subs that are dvc 4 ohm and wire them to 1 ohm and use one of the amps. It doesnt matter to me if they are the same subs or not, it can be two different tens, to best match with the amps.

These are going into a single cab ranger, I put in two bucket seats and Will have a custom box built, ported. Should I go with 1 ten or 2 tens.

Also I am in college and funding is kind of tight, I have around $250-300 to buy the subwoofers.
Thanks in advance

Not sure if these things are relevant or not but My deck is a Kenwood-Mp208, and i have 2 4" Polk Db401 coaxial speakers that are 45 watts rms, plan on getting a little amp to power those and my door speakers.

I would only use one of the amps and power 1-2 10 inch subs with that. Dont mix 2 different subs.

don't mix the two different subs even if each is wired up to it's own amp?

1st off, I would look for a better deal. $429 is too much for a 600 rms monoblock amp.
Get an AQ1200D 249 shipped. If don't want the full 1200 wrms then run it at 2 ohm (iirc ~800 wrms).
That is only one amp suggestion.. That deal would not be hard to beat. Even locally.

Many different sub combos would work with that amp, from mild to pretty damn loud if you know what you are doing. I can't really give to much insight to the smaller subs.. I've only ran 12's or larger.. I have heard plenty of the setups though. They can do damage if everything is right. Good luck.

He has the amp already. As for the subs i would go with 2 re sr's Rovin suggested. They only come in 10's. 2 of those would be great on 600 watts rms

Alright sounds good,I believe that is the way I'm going to be heading. Now
and you can find that amp cheaper at other sites,
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7560_Orion+HCCA-D1200.html?utm_source=froogl e&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=froogle

Now it's just time to get the box built, I took out my 60/40 split seat out of my ranger and cut it down to a bucket. Going to have the box right up the middle.

Hey sorry I haven't checked this thing in a while but here are some updates. I went ahead and bought the two Re Sr's on ebay, waiting on them to get here.

It isn't finished yet. It's 1.7 cubit feet. I'm going for around 35 hz.

My amp mounted behind passenger seat, Also have a polk coaxial speaker mounted and tweeters above the backglass

and this is where the box is going.

I'll show pictures once everything is installed and ready to go. Thanks for all the help

You may want to re-build that box out of 3/4" MDF and not out of plywood.
