Gold Member Username: AdddisorderPalm Beach, Florida Post Number: 6438 Registered: Jan-06 | just go measure where you will run the wire and add 2 or 3 ft for error. |

Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 19896 Registered: Jun-06 | WTF was I saying? 17' is the common length for an amp kit. I'd get 10' for the big three. ![]() |

Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9894 Registered: Jul-06 | I used ~10 ft for mine, it usually takes around that much to be safe. Only way it would take more is if you needed a very long wire somewhere. Personally I wouldn't order wire in 10' lengths though. It is much cheaper when bought by the spool. I buy 50' spools at a time. |
Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 2284 Registered: Oct-07 | Well, I'm not buying a 50 foot spool just for the Big 3. lol. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9897 Registered: Jul-06 | Think about it: is this the last install you're going to do? Probably not. Cheaper to buy the spool of wire than keep buying smaller lengths. |
Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 2287 Registered: Oct-07 | It's probably the last time I will buy wire for a long time, so I'm not gonna spend 150+ for a spool when I just need to spend like 10 bucks right now. |
Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 19897 Registered: Jun-06 | I bought 200' of it and didn't even have a system. THAT'S crazy right there. ![]() |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9906 Registered: Jul-06 | Damn prices went up. Last one I bought was $110 |
Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 2289 Registered: Oct-07 | what kind of wire is it. |
Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 19898 Registered: Jun-06 | "Damn prices went up. Last one I bought was $110" Tell me about it. Last time I bought wire in bulk 4ga was $.80/ft and 8ga was $.40/ft. Today it's $1.35/ft and $.65/ft. That's a big difference. http://www.edesignaudio.com/index.php?cPath=1_76_54_55 And when I bought that 200' roll of 1/0ga, it was $2/ft. Today.... http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_76_28_30&products_id=58 |

Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTIONLake Charles... Post Number: 2582 Registered: May-07 | the fucked up part of copper being so expensive, is that the price to recycle is about half of what it was 8-12 mths ago. I got by with 9' for the big 3, Hel_l I bought it from Paul. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9908 Registered: Jul-06 | Holy sh!t just looked on knukonceptz.... $3 ft for their good 100% copper 0 gauge. That used to be like $2.50 Last roll I bought, don't remember the brand but it was 100% copper, came out to just over $2 ft. |
Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 2296 Registered: Oct-07 | yeah I was just gonna use their KLMX wire. $1.75 per foot. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9911 Registered: Jul-06 | I would not recommend that, it is 90% aluminum. I only use 100% copper wire. Wires are copper for a reason, its the best conductor. This is a debated topic though. |
Gold Member Username: TejcurrentPost Number: 1731 Registered: Apr-07 | I remember paying 1.25/1.50 a ft 10 years ago or so, now it's jumping up like crazing. No joke on scrap prices- it makes no sense that they're down so low when price is up so high for the materials. I would order a few extra feet of wire- better to have a few scraps. I was getting 50ft kicker hyperflex rolls for 100, now that my hookup is going out of business I'm stuck paying the 150+ shipping for knu ![]() |
