ok so....

A class puts out 360 degrees of signal for every 360 degrees put in least power efficient but best signal

AB class puts out over 180 degrees but less than 360 degrees for every 360 degrees put in more power efficient than the A class but less efficient than B second best signal

B class puts out 180 degrees for every 360 degrees put in isn't as efficient as C class but more efficient than AB 3 best signal

C class puts out less than 180 for every 360 degrees put in and is most power efficient... 4th best signal

what does the D class put in for every input??
anyone know how the D class compares?

Fist of all: it is impossible to hear the difference between any of those when driving subwoofers. With full range speakers class D can't be used and you will not hear a difference between anything else.

first of all it is possible, a class has the least amount of distortion while c class has the most

any ear can hear distortion...

LOL. People 1000x smarter than you have tested that theory. You can't hear it.

ok, i'll admit when im wrong

so if you can't hear distortion what is the point in spending more on a class D or class A amp?

Umm, what?

Almost all car audio amplifiers are class AB or D. You will almost never see anything else in car audio.

Class D amps are cheaper than class AB. They are more efficient. They can only be used to drive subwoofers because the transistors switch at frequencies that are higher than a sub plays and therefore inaudible, but if you tried to play full range with them you would get a ton of noise in the high frequencies.

Class AB amps are used for full range. They provide near perfect performance at any frequency a speaker plays with an inaudible amount of distortion, as long as not driven into clipping.

Next, you CAN hear distortion if theres enough of it. Drive an amplifier into clipping and you get huge distortion. Any amplifier meeting CEA specs or better has a distortion level low enough it's inaudible.

Man I wish people would read the articles I post. I hate typing this sh!t. lol.

thanks MS, my mind is like scattered in 10000000 million different places right now.

Im in the Marine Corps and we were learning this stuff and we were learning amp classes and stuff and we were seeing different models of amp classes, idky i was thinking there were more than just the D and AB amps in car audio.... anyway, thanks for the help M.S. lol

Yep. There are several other types of amplifiers just not in car audio.
