so he calls me and he says "i wanna put a system in my blazer, can we do it soon?"
no problem i says.
so im outside washing my car, and he pulls in the driveway and we start talking about what he wants to do. he tells me "I have power wires for a system in the car already." so i pop the hood to look, and he has some stinger 0/1 gage in there. while under the hood, i can't help but notice his Alternator is HUGE. i take a closer look, and its a Delco 200amp alternator......
i ask him, "whoa! when did you do all this?!?" he said "do what? i just bought it(the car) friday. i haven't put anything in it."
the W0's/ CVR combo would be like 2000 watts max (1200= 4 W0s, 800= 2 CVRs). he's got a 200a alternator that wouldn't be put to good use.
oh gosh. i forgot the point of this message, lol.
since he has an amazing job and barely any bills to pay and basically paid the car in cash (from what he told me), he has virtually no budget, and a blazer's back end to fill with a 200a alt., and 0/1 ga. wire run for him. I'm getting him an Optima yellow top for 60 bucks.
this is my present to you all.
suggest ANY system (be realistic and serious). since we're normally constrained by 2000 bucks or below budget by everyone who asks for help, i figured this would be a fun little time filler for you people. *you people = intended racism.
don't get an optima, there are SO much better batteries.
And thats cool that it came with that stuff. Definetly aftermarket b/c no blazers ever came with anything other than the 100 amp. Just hope the person why did that mod knew what they are doing.
Ya but they are pretty well built. The cones are thick as horse sh!t! Guys on ICIX are running over 5kw to them apiece, which is pure overkill tho. For an SPL sub, they can actually can sound pretty good. Did a direct box swap with a diamond audio D6 and it sounded better imo, just rolled off a bit sooner on the high end.
