Nevr touched one... but judging from the fact that they rate everything at 16 volts I wouldn't trust them.

IIRC the model numbers of the amps corresponds to the 16v ratings. Although they also give 14v ratings.

Flase advertising imo, I hate companies that do that.

Is 12.5 and 14.4 both false then? If 16 volts is false only one can be right.

a little OT, but i always am talking to my brother and whatnot about car audio, and he insists that a car's electrical can go no higher than 12V...

maybe he thinks a car's battery can't go higher than 12V, idk.

could someone solve for me? thx!

sorry about stealing the thread

^ a cars charging system must be than 12v higher in order to over come the resistance of the battery, most military vehicles run on a 24v system little fun fact

You brother is dumb... alternators produce 13.5-14.4 volts. Batteries sit around 12 volts. Output voltage from the alt has to be more than battery voltage for current to flow into the battery and charge it.

Get a DMM and put it on the batt terminals with the engine running, that should shut him up.

And kyle stop giving advice when you don't know anything either. The amount of resistence in a battery is so small its irrelevent.

M.S.- i went outside and did what you said, then brought him out and told him to read it.

ahh... sibling rivalry... gotta love it.

"... how much does a HD truck produce..."

HD = High Definition = 1080p

truck = big bed

produce = any sort of home grown good

An HD trucks alternator would produce more AMPERAGE if anything, not higher voltage.
