Okay, I have a 06 Impala and I dont know what I want and not sure what would sound good and loud in my car....I have looked at kicker l7orl5 12's, alphasonik 8124 12's,kicker comp vr 12's,power acoustik mofo 12's, and I also need an amp and a idea on a box ported not ported? I'm lookin for something that would be hard and loud bass and killa if I want to enter a contest.
Let me know
Thanks,
Josh

great amp choice, IF you have eletrical upgades..

i would NOT go with any of the subs that you mentioned above. CVR's are fine but not with that amp and you will not likely win any contests with them...

as for already having a ported box... well, I would not recommend using it unless it just happens to be the exact spec's needed for the subs you choose.. And if it is a prefeb.... throw it away. a good sub(s) on that amp would likely bust the sides out of a prefab.

What car audio equipment do you already have?

what sub sound are you looking for ?SQL-mixture of SQ and pure bass or SPL-pure bass- not very clean bass but very loud.

i have a clarion max385vd indash tv, 4g amp kit thats it, I guess I'm going for the spl sound since thats what I see on all the contest cars is that spl, or just like if I'm gettin ready to pull in my road you can hear me before you see me type deal if thats some kinda sound, I didnt know there was that different types of sounds

You are gonna need a 0/1 ga wire kit, amp, sub(s), enclosure, mid/highs, amp for mids/highs, extra battery or at least a large audio series dry cell deep cycle battery, and possibly a h.o. alt. Your budget is a lil low for a competition level car.

YES! finally! ok so as much as you pay for an amp kit in a store (a decent one, not a little scosche kit), i made one up off of this site. this was the kit i was gonna use for my system, but ended up buying local instead, woulda been cheaper here-

http://www.darvex.com/car_audio.html

14ft 0/1 ga. power- $55.30
4 ft. 4 ga. power- $6.00
" " ground- $6.00
4 ft. 8 ga. power- $3.16
" " ground- $3.16

this D-block-
http://www.darvex.com/SHD20/Stinger+HPM+0+-+4+-+8+Gauge+Distribution+Block.html
- $11.95

and your choice of inline fuse holder + fuse(s) comes to about $85.60 +fuse stuff+ shipping.

so maybe about 120-130 for a decent wiring kit.

oh btw mark, i've had a pretty bad day today, and you're 2nd to last post brightened it up a little bit

that's prolly max power, don't even listen to your local audio shop, most of them don't even know what they're talking about and just want to sell you their product. But that amp sucks.

you have a pretty large trunk. My suggestion would be to go with 1-2 15" subs in a custom built box. I would stay below 1200 watts rms. Anything more then that you would probably want to upgrade your electrical.

I would look at

audioque SDC2.5 15
fi bl 15

there are plenty of other subs out there but those two came to mind

every sub you've listed = fail

except the CVR but even thats not that great, there is much better stuff out there.

AQ amps are great, good choice there.

quantum audio = huge fail
